ICA Committees

About ICA Committees

The ICA is committed to utilizing the talents and generosity of its members to further its mission to help clarinetists all over the world. We have established the following committees to help the organization achieve the most good.

The members you see listed here are the chairs, core members, and ex-officio members of these committees, but each committee has open meetings that will be announced regularly to the membership through the event calendar and emails.

For more information about how you can be involved in the ICA committees, please contact Jessica Harrie at [email protected].

Jazz and World Music Committee

The ICA Jazz and World Music Committee serves the International Clarinet Association membership and the clarinet community. The very nature of these musical styles dictates a diverse representation within the ICA, by embracing jazz, world folk music, and projects, collaborations, pedagogy, and competitions that are centered around these types of music. This committee discusses current initiatives and ways for the ICA to support composers, students, and performers of this music by working together and listening to the community it serves; creates performance, composition, and recording opportunities; encourages diversity and inclusivity of composers and styles; and brings composers, performers, and members of the clarinet community together.

Membership and Development Committee

The Membership and Development Committee supports the mission of the ICA by focusing on identification, communication, and growth. Members of this committee come from varied areas of expertise in the musical field, providing a diverse voice within the organization. Our baseline begins by identifying constituent groups within the organization, which allow us to discuss, formulate, and create opportunities that the ICA can utilize to best serve these groups now and in the future. The committee’s work focuses on retention and growth of the membership and securing funding for ICA events, competitions, scholarships, and other charitable projects such as the Instrument Donation Program.
