The International Clarinet Association seeks members to join two newly formed committees:
Jazz Committee – This committee seeks to broaden the scope of jazz-related content for ICA membership in The Clarinet, The Clarinet [Online], the ICA’s social media accounts, and at ICA events such as ClarinetFest®.
Membership and Development Committee – This committee seeks to grow the membership and help the ICA seek grant funding in collaboration with other ICA committees and event coordinators.
Additionally, the ICA Youth Committee has been split into two separate committees in order to address the needs of a wider youth audience.
Committee 1: Youth Involvement Committee – This new split from the Youth Committee will work to create and implement new and exciting initiatives designed to engage and involve beginners through high school and advocate for the involvement of this age group in current ICA events. Meredith Gersten will serve as the chair of this new committee.
Committee 2: College and Pre-Professional Engagement Committee – This new split from the Youth Committee will support college undergraduate, graduate, and pre-professional (degreed but not yet employed) clarinetists by helping them find the resources and mentorship they need to be successful in reaching their career, performance, and other goals and creating initiatives and events that further this purpose. Vanessa Davis will serve as the chair of this committee.
These new ICA committees will join our existing committees in helping our organization achieve our mission and our goals. Members serving on ICA Committees, in collaboration with the ICA Board and Staff, help push new initiatives that will modernize our organization, help us reach more clarinetists, and do more good for the global clarinet community.
