Young Artist Competition

The ICA Young Artist Competition Finals took place Saturday, 7/2/22 at 9am

The final round of the ICA Young Artist Competition was a joy to watch. The performers in this round were Chin-I James Lee, Taig Egan, Keeheon Nam, John Burton, Lidia Carrilero Planel, and Joshua Rodriguez. Each of these young performers demonstrated excellent musicianship, fluid technical facility and strong stage presence performing selections from the second movement of Brahms’ Second Sonata and the Bach Chromatic Fantasy.

The final round judges (Seunghee Lee, Andy Simon, and Steve Williamson) took extra time to deliberate before announcing the winners. The 2022 Young Artist Winners were Taig Egan (student of Sam Boutris and Jon Manasse, First Place), John Burton (student of Jaren Hinckley, Second Place), and Keeheon Nam (student of Richie Hawley, Third Place).
