The first day of ClarinetFest®  2022 ended with a bang. Internationally renowned clarinetists and bass clarinetists joined the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West under the baton of MAJ Jason Plosch. Sabrina Moulaï performed Flash! by Daniel Dorff. Clarissa Osborn and Alaina Shaw performed Parallel Histories by Eric Mandat. Robert Spring and Stefanie Gardner performed Double Take by Theresa Martin. Robert Spring performed Funkinetics by Scott McAllister. Bass clarinetist Rocco Parisi performed Constrasti by Vincenzo Correnti. Bass clarinetist Sauro Berti performed Hacksaw by Arthur Gottschalk.

The concert concluded with a performance of Frank Ticheli’s Blue Shades, which showcased the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West’s talented clarinet section and soloist TSgt Brian Wilmer. A fun and flashy encore brought back all the soloists to the stage. The concert drew a large and appreciative audience. The varied repertoire coupled with rotating soloists made for a fast-paced and engaging concert experience.
