ClarinetFest® 2018 is almost here! We hope you’re excited for what will be one of our best ClarinetFests® yet in Ostend, Belgium! Each day is jam-packed full of headliners, lecturers, vendors, sponsors, and clarinet choirs from all over the world.
Please be sure your travel plans include attendance to the opening concerts on July 6th. ClarinetFest® 2018 will kick off with a performance by the Claribel Clarinet Choir in honor of the late Guido Six at 1:30pm in the Thermae Palace, followed by a special concert by the Lumen Symphonicum featuring ICA Honorary Member soloists Karl Leister, Charles Neidich, Luis Rossi, and Antonio Saiote.
These two opening performances will include an opportunity to register to win some deluxe prizes that will be awarded in drawings throughout the festival. Be sure to see an ICA representative prior to both of these concerts to receive one free ticket for the drawings.
*To be eligible for the prizes, members must pick up their tickets and be present at the opening performances as well as at the evening concerts.
Additionally, there will be an extra concert by the Brussels Philharmonic with Academy Award winner Nicola Piovani (La Vita è Bella), conducting his film music and the world premiere of his clarinet concerto, featuring ClarinetFest® 2018 Artistic Director Eddy Vanoosthuyse. The entire membership is cordially invited to attend a reception following this opening evening concert hosted by the ICA and Buffet. Every ICA member registered for ClarinetFest® in attendance will receive one complimentary drink ticket.* Please join us for this reception to honor our new Honorary Members, Charles Neidich and Bernard Van Doren, as well as past honorary membership inductees, past presidents and our 2018 sponsors, with special thanks and appreciation to Eddy Vanoosthuyse and his artistic leadership team for hosting ClarinetFest® 2018.
Don’t forget that ClarinetFest® 2018 also marks the end of the ICA Capital Campaign to endow and secure the future and continued success of our wonderful organization.
