The wonders of technology allow for an endless treasure trove of free and accessible clarinet information online. Here are a few online resources you should check out:
- International Clarinet Association website. The ICA offers many resources for both members and non-members alike. Our blogs feature a wide variety of educational topics, and members can access digital copies of The Clarinet.
- The Clarinet Institute of Los Angeles. There are tons of pieces of clarinet repertoire waiting to be practiced and performed on this website. Each score is completely free (and legal!) to download.
- Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Great Britain. There are lots of great resources for both clarinetists and saxophonists on this website, including news, reviews, and videos.
- Musical Chairs or Clarinet Jobs. Browse job and competition listings from around the world.
- Australian Music Centre. You can discover and listen to clarinet works by Australian composers in a wide variety of genres and styles.
- Canadian Music Centre. This organization seeks to promote music by Canadian composers, and it’s easy to discover new composers and their works, both for clarinet and any other instrument. You can read composers’ biographies, listen to select recordings of their works, and even order the music through this group’s publishing house.
- YouTube. There are many educational channels on YouTube devoted to the clarinet. In addition to listening to recordings of pieces, many channels offer tailored advice about specific etudes or pieces.
- Facebook, Instagram, and other social media. One of our greatest resources is the international clarinet community, and what better way to connect than social media? Follow the ICA on Facebook or Instagram, or participate in the endless amount of clarinet-specific groups and forums.
