Showcase Stage at ClarinetFest® 2021

Showcase Stage at ClarinetFest® 2021

We would like to highlight and update the Showcase Stage which will feature performances by young student ensembles. The deadline for submitting applications (*with full performance recordings*) for this stage has been extended to April 30, 2021.
The ensemble size requirement has been reduced to trio (3 players) or larger in an attempt to encourage the membership to use best health practices. Each performing ensemble must be comprised of only school-aged students (high school graduating seniors and younger) and each ensemble must comply with their school and local health guidelines for any rehearsal, recording or event related to the Showcase Stage initiative.
*Non-clarinetist ensemble directors do not have to be an ICA member in order to apply for their ensemble to perform as part of the Showcase Stage.
Applications (with full performance recordings) can be submitted through the www.clarinet.org website using the Acceptd portal link and will be reviewed for selection for the Showcase Stage by Paula Corley. Notification regarding the status of the application will be sent by June 1, 2021. Please submit the video formatting guidelines below.
ClarinetFest® 2021 Video formatting guidelines

The following guidelines describe the formatting specifications that yield the highest quality for playing videos on YouTube, which is where the videos for ClarinetFest® 2021 will be hosted.

File format: If you cannot submit videos in MPEG-2 format, then MPEG-4 is the preferred format. The following specifications provide optimal playback of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 videos:

  • MPEG-2
    • Audio codec: MPEG Layer II or Dolby AC-3
    • Audio bitrate: 128 kbps or better
  • MPEG-4
    • Video codec: H.264
    • Audio codec: AAC
    • Audio bitrate: 128 kbps or better

Framerate: Videos should be in their native frame rates without resampling. Typically, frame rates are set at 24, 25 or 30 frames per second.

Aspect ratio: Videos should be widescreen or horizontal aspect ratios for the best viewing experience.

If you are unable to send videos in MPEG-2 or MPEG-4, you can still submit your video in .WMV,  .MOV and .FLV formats.
