Stoltzman Sounds! A Celebration

stoltzmanconcertOn Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 7:30 PM, legendary clarinetist Richard Stoltzman will celebrate his 75th birthday and the release of his latest recording Duo Cantando. The concert, which will be held at Carnegie’s Zankel Hall, will feature the two-time Grammy Award-winner Stoltzman with marimbist Mika Stolzman, and special guests Satoshi Kitamura, bandoneon, Fred Sherry, cello, the American String Quartet, David Deveau, piano and Peter John Stoltzman, piano.
The program will feature the following works:
  • BACH Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue in D Minor, BWV 903
  • SCHUMANN Fantasiestücke, Op. 73
  • XENAKIS Charisma
  • BRAHMS Con moto from Clarinet Quintet in B Minor, Op. 115
  • MOZART Allegretto con variazioni from Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in A Major, K. 581
  • BILL DOUGLAS Waltz Cantando
  • MCKINLEY Mostly Blues
  • JOHN ZORN The Nymphs
  • JOHN ZORN Palimpsest (World Premiere)
  • CHICK COREA Sea Journey
  • MICHIRU OSHIMA Kazabue (US Premiere)
  • PIAZZOLLA Fuga y Misterio
