Dr. Jeremy Ruth is Assistant Professor of Music at Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. As an educator, Jeremy teaches music history and applied clarinet lessons, in addition to coaching the woodwind ensemble at Lander. His performance interests are wide-ranging, but he has a particular interest in contemporary music, performance art, and exploring new extended techniques for the clarinet. Jeremy presented his research on different techniques of vocalization during clarinet performance in the 2019 ICA Research Competition and won first place. His scholarly work has also been published in the NACWPI Journal and The Clarinet.

As a founding member of the Ambassador Trio, Jeremy has performed throughout North America and Europe, including performances at every ICA ClarinetFest® from 2017 through 2024. Jeremy holds both the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from Arizona State University, where his teachers included Robert Spring and Joshua Gardner, and the Bachelor of Music degree from Boise State University, where he studied with Leslie Moreau.
