UK ICA Member (and ICA Clarinetfest 2022, Reno concerto soloist), Peter Cigleris has recently released two new albums.

Rediscovered highlights four forgotten English musical voices from the 1930s and the 1940s. The works show the musical style of English post-romanticism prior to WW2 and the shift to a more modern outlook post WW2. The disc also aims to shine a light on the women composers working in England at these times with the premier recording of Poem Cantilena by Susan Spain-Dunk and the Concertino by Elizabeth Maconchy.

Dedication is a tribute to the relationship both personal and professional between Ruth Gipps and her husband clarinettist Robert Baker. The works on this disc are all dedicated to Robert and have been performed by him. They include the Quintet for oboe, clarinet and string trio which was considered lost until a set of parts were discovered in Ruth’s manuscripts as well as the Kelpie of Corrivreckan which was the work that drew them together and inspired Ralph Vaughan Williams to tell them to marry.
