To the ICA Membership:
The ICA Board of Directors is carefully monitoring the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and understands and shares our members concern about the virus. The health and safety of the association membership is our absolute first priority. We understand that many of our members have made travel plans to attend ClarinetFest® 2020 in Reno (June 24-28, 2020) and the Board is continuing to closely monitor the situation as it develops and will take all necessary measures to protect our members. As ClarinetFest®2020 is still more than three months away, there is still some time to change course, if necessary. As of today (March 11, 2020) we remain hopeful for worldwide progress in controlling the outbreak and are still planning to have a festival. As more information is learned, we will keep the membership informed should there be any change in the plans for ClarinetFest® 2020. We fully respect the decision of each member regarding their participation. As of this writing, there are currently two presumptive positive cases in Washoe County, where Reno is located. The Washoe County School District remains open and the University of Nevada is still holding classes and events at the discretion of the professors/presenters. We will continue to monitor the Washoe County Health District alerts and information from Nevada public health officials.
Sincerely, The ICA Board of Directors
