Program Notes: The first two pieces are from the Duo’s second CD, “Choro Tributes” and the suite “A Dozen Choro Tributes.” Choro is Brazil’s popular virtuoso instrumental music.
The third work is from the eighth and latest suite, “Sambistas Imortais” (Immortal Samba Composers, in 16 movements) and is a special dedication to Brazilian music legend Chico Buarque.
The fourth and final work “Coco Pouco Louco” is from the seventh suite, “Cantos do Nordeste” (Songs from Northeast Brazil, in 18 movements).
