Volunteer at ClarinetFest® 2025

The ICA is looking for volunteers just like you for ClarinetFest® 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas!

You can choose if you would like to work as a half-time or full-time volunteer!

Half-time volunteers work a maximum of 10 hours during the week, and receive 50% off of registration.
Full-time volunteers work 10-20 hours during the week, and receive free registration!

Volunteers receive a free t-shirt for their service. Volunteers may also receive perks including to but not limited to: a free clarinet lesson, equipment like a mouthpiece, ligature, or barrel, artist CDs, and other miscellaneous volunteer-only swag by attending our Volunteer Social on Thursday, July 10 at 6PM Central!

Plan to attend the Volunteer Orientation meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 at 5PM Central. Please let the volunteer coordinator know if you cannot attend orientation but still wish to volunteer.
Volunteers are responsible for all travel and lodging. (Bring a friend to volunteer with you to help with costs!) You can visit the ClarinetFest® 2025 Volunteer webpage to ‘find a roommate’ or other lodging alternatives.
If have any other questions or concerns with which the ICA may be able to assist, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator Stephen Borodkin ([email protected]) directly.

Yes! Please sign-up as a volunteer, and let us know what your travel plans are (even if those are still tentative.) We are offering half-time and full-time options to offer maximum flexibility. Half-time volunteers will receive half off of their registration fee and full-time volunteers will receive free registration!
We will reach out closer to the week of ClarinetFest® to check in on any volunteer updates.

Volunteers can get experience as Stage Managers, Ushers, Registration Assistants, Exhibit/Lecture/Presentation Monitors, and other small jobs as needed.

Volunteers may also receive: a free clarinet lesson, attendance to a ‘volunteer only’ networking event with some of the ClarinetFest® 2025 headliners, extra ‘volunteer only swag’, and more!

We ask for the top two events every volunteer would like to personally attend, and, if possible, we don’t schedule volunteers during that event. Remember, the more volunteers we have the less you will have to work, so bring a friend!

No, if you are not a clarinet player, then you do not have to be a member of the ICA to volunteer at ClarinetFest®. If you are a clarinet player, we ask that you become a member of the ICA.

If you change your mind and decide to volunteer full-time, please email ICA’s Executive Director for refund information at [email protected].

Although every ClarinetFest schedule is different every year, the needs of each conference also changes every year. A volunteer shift might look like this: 1) working the Registration table from 8:00am-10:00am; and/or 2) stage managing a 30-minute quartet recital including the 15-30 minutes prior to the start of that event to check-in with the performers; and/or 3) ushering an evening Headliner concert that is a couple of hours in length.

No. A volunteer’s schedule is different every day based on the needs/events of ClarinetFest and many other variables that come into play when the Volunteer Coordinator Team creates the individual schedules. A volunteer could work several hours one day (the VC Team tries to avoid scheduling long shifts!) and very minimal hours the next day. The VC Team works very hard to make sure volunteer shifts are as easy and flexible as possible.
